My "friends" have ignored me for months on end

I have two "friends." One of them really was my friend for four and a half years until a couple months ago. The other guy mostly bummed rides off me and played video games at my dorm yet somehow felt I was one of his best friends.

At this point, after the one I've known for four and a half years hasn't talked to me for 2 months, the other guy says that if I quit a forum that I frequent for 6 months, then this other guy's dad will let him talk to me again. It seems really f**ked up that someone's dad would order them not to talk to a friend, but this guy never cut the umbilical cord in the metaphorical sense.

I guess... is it normal that a 24 year old's dad would not let him to talk to his friend unless said friend stopped logging into a forum? I think this is beyond absurd.

    If his friendship is that important to you...then why not quit the forum? Which matters most? A 4 year friendship, or ...an online forum?

    It is beyond absurd, as you said. Ask them straight out "What the hell?!" Also, get new friends :/

    sounds a little absurd, but that doesn't particularly sound like they are ignoring you.

    I know my friends and I can go months without talking to each other, but when we get together it's like we never left. So don't feel that people are ignoring you, everyone has their own schedules, maybe you should try asking them to hang out or something. Hit a bar, go tailgating, do something you guys used to do. They might be more receptive to taking part in some activity with you rather than just talking.
