My friends faking mental illness for attention?

I got really pissed about something lately. I have this friend and she practically gets on everybody’s nerves.

She tells us “I’m not the one causing drama” when she actually is. She cries in front of us. I; a person who lacks showing emotion. Was put into the spot where I had to comfort her. She was crying in front of everybody when I just stood there she looked at me and yelled “WHY ARENT YOU DOING ANYTHING?!”

She really has no reason to be depressed. I know that you’re thinking “oh well you don’t know someone’s life” I’ve known her plenty, the only things she gets upset over is her Minecraft boyfriend breaking up with her. She has a pretty wealthy family that all gets along.

God, it really is annoying. She sent me a video of her faking a psychotic break. Which is absolute bullshit. I’ve went through a psychotic break and it’s obvious that she’s faking it.

She keeps calling herself insane, and when I wanted to call a hotline for her she told me that she was fine.

I was wondering if my friend really is faking mental illness? Well that’s a shitty way to put it. I KNOW she’s faking mental illness. It gets me pissed out of my nerves. Let’s not forget the fact that she tries to act/be asian. How do I confront her about this? And what are your thoughts?

    The fact she tries to 'fake' a mental illness is quite sick. If someone's so desperate for attention there is definitely something wrong...

    That behavior is called malingering. Malingering can be caused by mental illnesses, so she is probably lying about what she says she has, but at the same time she probably has some underlying personality disorder.

    Definitely not normal to be so naive and delusional that you think you can tell when somebody is faking a mental illness when, in reality, you haven't the slightest clue what's going on in their heads. Not normal at all.

    Drama queen looking for attention. Nothing more. Tell her to quit her play acting if she gets more upset and plays more into the part then just walk away. She just wants to be the center of attention.

    She mostly sounds like an attention whore and a drama queen. A mild mental illness may be present, but nothing to the degree she would have you believe and nothing to justify her behavior. I wouldnt entertain it, and i wouldnt feel sorry for her. Frankly id cut her ass off because nobody has the time for that shit.

    Does she happen to be the opposite gender as you, and does she appear this needy with everyone else?

    Why would you want to be friends with someone like that. Dump her as a friend and find better friends.

    She plays Minecraft a lot and meets new people on there as she’s told and shown me. She makes boyfriends and once they break up with her she gets “depressed”

    Okay first of all, you don’t “need a reason” to be have a mental illness. Some people have a chemical imbalance. Also, there might be personal stuff that she’s just not telling you about, such as being raped, molested, etc. A lot of sexual abuse victims are embarrassed and won’t say anything. Final point; even if she is faking, OBVIOUSLY she has some kind of mental problem. Sane people don’t fake illnesses.

    I don't know anything but I think there are people that are like that. They like the idea of people pitying them. They get off on sympathy. Again I don't know shit but she could be that type.
