      Actually, her friend did, but still.

      Also, What we now call "Multiple personality disorder" was called schizophrenia in the past (and technically, according to the latest DSM-(IV or V, I'm not sure which),its not even called Multiple personality disorder anymore.

      Schizophrenia has a different definition now than it did then.

        You are correct. It's called Dissociative Identity Disorder, or DID, now. DID is considered a dissociative disorder instead of a form of psychosis like schizophrenia.
