You poor thing, you won't be able to shift that memory altogether I'm afraid but time will help make the pain associated with that memory easier. By all means get some therapy if you need and make sure your friend is too.
Do you think her depression is a genetic one, is it hormonal or are there certain problems in her life causing it? How old is she by the way if you don't mind me asking? Whats stopping her from sorting out those issues?
Those blokes who called her an "emo skank" obliviously never experienced depression. I had a bad time when I was in school, always got picked on because other kids thought I was clever and had a perfect family...but in reality I had to take extra classes to keep up, my dad had left and my mum had turned into an abusive alcoholic and it left me low. But for whatever reason I held on and I'm so glad I did because my life is amazing now, so many things I've experienced that have been wonderful which I wouldn't have been able to if I had done away with myself. You could try and convey that to her. Check on her at least once a day, take her out regularly and get her to smile over something, just give her as much support as possible. Take Care :)
