My family hates me

well to start off with i am a teenage boy and am gonna be 18 in december 2010.I am hated by my family i never get along with my mother and wo both hate each other for whatever we do.i am irritated by every thing they do.i hate my sister and she hates me.i can never talk to them about what is wrong with me cuz all they do is blame me.they dont give me money for going out with friends so i hardly go out.they say that all i've ever done is made their life miserable since the day i was born.apart from all this my father loves me alot and my brother really cares for me.he usually helps me out whenever i need him.......all i want to ask is that is someone else going through the same situation as i am?and what would be the right decision?

Money doesn't define love and hate. I don't believe hatred is something any human being can really claim, and it is used far too loosely.

That aside, socialization doesn't require money. Hang out at your friends' houses, if you're low on cash. They're your -friends-. They're not using you for money, and if you have enough in common to be friends, there is plenty to talk about at no cost at all.

If you feel your family is unfairly blaming you, talk to them. Whether you like them or not, they are still your family. Listen to them, calmly, without arguing, then calmly, and carefully state your concerns. If they try to yell over you, politely ask that they hear you out--it's easy to ask if you've already listened to what they have to say.

Don't try to talk to everyone at once, just take it one on one. Don't be afraid to actually express yourself. If it's easier, try writing a letter, so they can't interrupt you.

The problem could simply be caused by personality traits. I was also an outsider in my family and allways blamed for everything. The thing was basically that I was an egalitarian idealist and the rest of my family elitist realists and that caused flaws in communication. When I matured I learned how to be more flexible towards them. Idealists seems to be more flexible. You could try to do this test http://www.humanmetrics.com/cgi-win/jtypes2.asp

Stay at home go to college get a decent job then move out. Your mom loves you, she's probably overwhelmed in life. Your sister won't like you for a few more years...that's usually how it goes. Concentrate on making you better.

  • Not normal. Okay listen pack up everything right now look for a house and the day you turn 18 say goodbye to them! You can still talk to them especially your dad and brother. But once your mom sees how her life is without you.. She'll be sad that her and your sister drove you away. GOOD LUCK !! (:

Get a job! Stay away from them and move out! Talk to your mom once things calm down a bit. Maybe she will change as well as your sister.
