My ex bf still has our relationship status on fb

is this normal? he told me the day he broke up with me that he still loves me but he just wants to be single. but he wants to stay friends and wants to keep our pictures on fb still up and where it says he’s in a relationship with me... why do you think he still wants that up if he wants to be single. i’m so confused
