My discharge is weird

So, I just finished my period a couple days ago and was still wearing tampons just in case. When I replaced my tampon I noticed yellow discharge. It wasn't "cottage cheese" like or "burning" or "itchy", and it was totally normal except that it was yellow. I don't remember peeing myself at any time, so I don't know what's up. Is this normal?

You're having discharge because the vagina is a self-cleaning organ and it's trying to restore its natural balance of bacteria and such. If your period is over than you shouldn't still be wearing tampons, even if it's "just in case". You should use pads or at least a pantyliner for that. Otherwise you're putting yourself at risk for Toxic Shock Syndrome.

toxic shock was not caused from tampon normal use , it was caused from forgetting a Relay brand in place in combination with staphylococcus aureus bacteria, . the brand was so absorbent women were not changing them out and leaving them in place for five days or forgetting one was in place at all. so you see a just in case tampon so long as its fresh and changed or removed in 24 hours is fine.
