My cat refuses to use the kitty litter box
I'm training him by example by pooping in the box myself but he's still pooping behind furniture and in my closet.

you should get one giant litter box for yourself and another one for the kitty
that way therell be no confusion

Cats tend to go outside the litter box when the box is not clean enough. But will otherwise prefer to go somewhere sandy, like a litter box. Also really hope your cat is not declawed, but that is a thing that could cause them to avoid it because that causes the sand to hurt
