My job requires intense concentration, screen time, and clear thinking, too. What I’ve found helps is to take a break every hour, or so, (or whenever I’m blocking) get up and walk where I can focus on something far away and think of something else. Just a couple minute break. Sometimes I have a great idea when I do this. And stay very well hydrated. One of the first things to go when you’re dehydrated is clear thinking. I also meditate in the morning. Just 15 minutes and it works wonders. Good luck.
[Not OP] I'm working on a thesis right now and do the exact same thing with the breaks. I'm not only walking away and doing some 2-minute activity away from my work station but coming here a couple minutes each break... not very productive haha!
I'm in an Art-Education Program and my focus is on interdisciplinary teaching through art as a starting point to get to other areas of knowledge and contextualization. In particular the crossover between performing and visual arts, History and ESL. That's roughly it... hahaha.
Well, it is a trend that has been slowly growing. The Escuelas Experimentales in Argentina are an example. They've abolished placement of students by grades and age, and have arts as the curricular axis. Also the changes in Finnish education, as in reducing school hours and subjects not being taught separately but as part of knowledge as a whole, holistic learning, so to speak . Really interesting. At least to me. lol
I think all that is brilliant. Education seems to have slipped behind as far as effectiveness in today's world. Glad to see people like you are working to evolve new ways to do it.
My brain doesn't work when I want it to

When I was working on my dissertation, I had to take tons of breaks. Brain got tired! What are you studying?
