Why don't you ask about him and another guy with you instead? That would be a good question to ask. I don't believe in or support polyamory, and I certainly don't believe in polygamy which is why I think you ought to ask about Polyandry. Lots of men who claim to want free love and polyamory actually only support it if it's them and two women, but not their female partner and two men.
My personal opinion is that I don't like sharing. It's not for me. It's a major turn off to hear a guy just tell me that he would be open to that sort of thing. I remember I was dating this one guy who was a school teacher, and always came off as this very proper, clean cut sort of guy. Well, we used to have really great sex so we decided to do some Ecstasy together. He told me right out of the blue that he would be open to an open marriage, talk about a fucking buzzkill! It made my stomach turn! His statement coupled with the fact that he wasn't an animal person like me let me know at that very moment that he wasn't the right one for me, and he would never be anything more than a good lay.
More than anything this needs to be about what you want!
