In my opinion, it's rude, controlling, and a huge sign of disrespect.

I personally don't finish my plate most of the time at restaurants, and just doggybag it for later (I finish it at home the next day as a light snack). Boyfriend never once got upset even at times when he paid.

I think this shows how little he respects you by forcing you to finish your plate like a child. You're an adult. If he gets upset like that again, just pay for your half of the bill and call it a day; if he still gets mad, then you may need to end the relationship before behavior like this gets worse.

Idk it depends on a lot of things. When u say mad that can mean a lot of things, so regardless of whether his feelings have a just cause he could be making mistakes in how he articulates them. The next is really where his frustration is from, it could be that you are one of the many women who has been convinced they don't need to gain weight when in fact they would benefit from it or even wants to lose weight to meet some fictitious beauty ideal even though you are healthy. If his concern is entirely about money this could be because he was raised with his parents acting this way but still is rude. If you could calmly and compassionately tell him how it makes you feel, tonight or tomorrow, when he is not angry maybe you two can work it out. He may not even realize he is doing it

i think its rude and childish to force you to eat all your food.
you shouldn't have too, but you should also be mindful of your significant other and only order what you will eat or wanna take home.

Some people just dont like to waste food. But it should still be your choice of whether or not you want to eat something.

Depends on the restaurant. If the breakfast menu is set and you get a specific selection of food for ten bucks, then his reaction sounds pretty controlling. If you chose what was on your plate and the cost of the breakfast was on a per-item basis, and you then decided not to eat what you asked for, that's different.

Personally, I'd be very happy if my wife didn't have the compulsion to clear her plate. She'd weigh a lot less and feel a lot better and I'd find her a lot more physically attractive.

if you dont want to eat it dont order it . you just signed your death warrant with this guy. he is probably already dumped you and you dont even know it. this is probably the biggest tell women can have is to waste food and money. it is worth a thousand words to a guy thats trying to figure out if he wants to be with this woman. the fact that he verbalized his opposition to you means he already made up his mind on the matter, you are dead to him now. you blew it. men have no desire to fix a broken woman , they fix things not people thats a major difference between men and women . we hunt for the right woman for us we dont try to mold them to our liking. dont sweat it if you get dumped after all you are what you are , a person that wastes money and food . Someday a guy that doesnt work for his money will find you and not care .

Besides, it's the man's job to finish the woman's plate. That's how I do it lol.
