It sounds like the guy is pushing boundaries well beyond what's reasonable. If you're waking up sore, it sounds like he's being far too energetic way too fast or shoving himself into you when you're not lubricated; either is an inconsiderate and disrespectful thing to do.
If you're not happy with how things are going, explain what's bothering you, and ask him to change his ways. If he doesn't, then it's clear he doesn't respect you, and you should dump him.
As for how his possible future girlfriends might deal with him, that's really not your concern. He and they will have to negotiate and come to an agreement about what they both find acceptable, just as you should be doing with him right now.
