The feeling you have is normal. But the way this is carrying on isn't. You need to respect your friend by leaving her alone. She is using you as some emotional crutch and that should be her boyfriend's job. You playing shining hero to her insecurities will get you no where.
And realize that if she does it to him, she may do it to you. Think twice about that before you consider going out with her.
