My 2 y/o pleaded for purple nails and i gave in

My daughter is just turning 2. She saw me do my toe nails last summer and has seen me come home with my nails done. She was fascinated with it. She recently found a bottle of sparkly purple polish and pleaded for days for purple nails. Finally I gave in and put a thin coat on her nails. She's SO Happy with it. She doesn't go to day care or anything so I figured a few days wouldn't hurt.
I would like to add that we put a big emphasis on nature and knowledge. (real values)
Her father was very upset about this. I think it's just part of growing, just the same as letting her dress herself on occasion, not a big deal. after all they make play polish for kids.
so Is it normal to let your toddler wear nail polish on rare occasion?

Your husband sounds like an insecure dick if he can't deal with his daughters nails being polished.

i bet your husband woudln't be mad if you had a son and he wore a necktie. It is absolutely normal and natural for kids to look after their parents. specially for those of the same sex, you as their parents are their role models.

All little girls want to have things like that that their mothers have. Dad needs to lighten up and let the little girl have some fun.

You gotta pick your battles. Give in to the little things so the really big things matter. No big deal on nail polish.

If it makes her happy, why not? It's removable. Not like she asked for a tattoo. Plus you don't want to be too strict with your little one. What if it backfires?

that's totally normal. all little kids are fascinated when they see something they haven't seen before. and if she wanted nail polish, that should be fine. idk why your husband isn't ok with it.

    why wouldn't it be normal?
She looks up to you so when she saw you with your nails done she wanted to have hers done too. (:

My male cousins always wanted their nails painted. In football colours, of course :) It was cute.

It's just a bit of nail polish. I know there can be some concern with the chemicals used in them, but if you're using them on yourself, I guess that's not where the problem lies for you.

Its totally normal, she's a girl and is allowed to have a girly colour. It would be a different story if she as having her nails done in a nail parlour all the time and only being two, but to have a fun colour on is totally normal and is apart of having fun and growing up.
