Was kind of expecting some

Hahahaha. That's because you wrote the post, and you're likable.
If I wrote the post it would have been a shit show. I would have written like 5 paragraphs that devolved into a diatribe on why I like you, and then erased all of those paragraphs and come up with something like:
"IIN to be infatuated with someone who, for all I know, could smell like 3 day old ham left in the sun"
