I don't see how modern pop-music caters to lower denominators than 80s pop music though.
The 80s didn't have social media platforms, did they? YouTube?
To be successful then you had to play well enough to convince an investor of some sort
Now anyone can create a music channel and a music empire, if they know how to work the systems
Music was objectively better in the past
