Movie date went terrible

Everything was great. Before the movie we talked for a while and then went into the movie. We got about 45 minutes into the movie then she just walked out. I thought she had to use the bathroom or something so I didn’t think anything of it. She came back and said “my mom is telling me I have to come home now.” At first I believed her. Then I went to text her after a while to see if she got home ok on the dating app we met on. but the chat dissapeared meaning she blocked me. I was devastated. I have been on so many movie dates without a problem and I was so unprepared for this. Why would she come back into the theater to lie as oppose to just walking out?

Help us keep this site organized and clean. Thanks!

  • She lied. Just wanted to get out of the date, and probably go hang with another guy. How do I know this? I'm a guy and I've done it. Met woman from an online dating site at her apartment (for the first meeting..that alone told me she was desperate). Got there, her two kids attached themselves to my legs, the place was a rathole, and I told myself..Get the hell out of here.

While in the bathroom and checking my phone, a woman I used to date, who I liked and was way hotter than the apartment date woman, texted me about meeting up for a drink at (a national chain place..sounds like..schmamblbees). I said yes, finished up, and told the date woman I "had to get something from my car". I did..Me and the car out of there to go meet the other woman.

When someone does the online dating thing, be prepared for changes and not the best night all the time. I learned that one fast. And had a better time with the hotter, more beautiful, enjoyable woman.

      • I know it kind of was..But had to get out of that apartment and situation. The kids attached themselves to my legs without knowing who the hell I was, meaning..They were desperate for a daddy..The place itself was a shithole, with smoke-stained drapes on the only window, and I just had a bad feeling about the whole thing. When the other woman texted me to get together, you're darn right I said yes to that better option. At least I knew who I was meeting and dealing with, she was clean, and intellectually on my level.

It was a bit of a dick move leaving, you're not wrong.

  • Its all good dude. I think you dodged a bullet honestly. Most girls wouldnt do that. Unless you did something really inappropriate she shouldn't have stabbed your heart like that lol. Even if she weren't into you she could have just finished the date or atleast tell you later that shes not interested. She knew that blocking you would fuck your head up and make you wonder. Shes a selfish person.

Did you try to rush a move with her? Do you not look like the guy in the pictures? Maybe you were mean? Idk dude that sucks...

    • No I didn’t do anything out of line. We just sat there and watched the movie and she just got up and walked out. Blocking does seriously mess with my head. In my eyes blocking is a last resort and shouldn’t be used unless someone is REALLY bothering you.

      • Atleast you dodged a bullet dude. That really shows a lot about her character. My wife can be somewhat of a bitch to people and even she wouldnt do something like that. That was very disrespectful and inconsiderate.

        • Totally. I paid 20 dollars for her ticket and even offered to buy her food. I’ve been dating for a couple months and it really shows you what women can be like. Let me tell you, it’s not all sunshine and rainbows like the movies.

  • WTF. Did you have a date with a girl and then meet her at the movie? What are you, like 11 years old? And how did she get home? People need to quit texting and actually use the frigging phone for its real purpose, to actually speak with one another. Maybe that was your problem, you couldn't talk to her once she was there in person.

  • Some people just look for absolutely any silly reason to act the way she did.

Even if you asked her, it would probably be some dumb shit like how you made the wrong facial expression during some part of the movie and she got scared that you were going to hurt her.

Time to say "fuck it" and move on. You have had good dates before and you will have more. Some just go bad. Not your fault.

  • Movie theater dates are lame. And I'm wondering how she's old enough to be on a dating site if her mom is telling her what to do...
