  • Honestly I do think wanting to be the opposite sex is a mental disability. I think it needs to be looked into more to find out why it happens to people and if it can be prevented. Wanting to have your body parts mutilated so you can pretend to be something you're not, nor will ever be is a mental dissorder.

That said, if there is no possible way to make the person suffering from it happy without the operation then I think it's best to let them have it, it is their choice afterall.

I think people who dress as the opposite sex but not wanting an operation is something completely different though. They confuse being a man/woman by what attire is prominently wore by the sexes is our culture. As in they prefer the image of the opposite sex and want to look similar. Basically a clothing and image choice than a gender choice.

I know a guy who's gay who fits in with what I explained in the last paragraph and I asked him about it. He looks like a girl, when I first seen him I thought he was a girl. Became good friends and asked him what the deal is with how he looks, if he's transgender and so on. He basically said no, hes a guy and identifies as a man but has an appreciation for the female image in society such as their clothing, hair, and make up. So made sense.

    Anyway, I'm rambling. Haha.
