Depends on the source of info whether it is more men or women. Plus typically women shop more so it would make sense that more women shoplift.
I looked it up about who shoplifts more and the reports seem to be all over the place. Some say men, some women, some older, some younger... Seems inconclusive.
Even data about likelihood to be caught is odd, one report said chances of getting caught are 1 in 48 but if someone ISN'T caught, how would they make it into a statistic in the first place?
Two facts cannot be argued - it is not worth the risk plus if one is caught, the store is not going to be nice about it.
Most expensive thing you’ve shoplifted?

According to a documentary I watched once, statistically more women shoplift than men.

As someone with personal experience, it most definitely IS worth the risk.
Probably true. Things that women want (clothes/makeup/jewellery) are all really overpriced and easy to steal.
