Not much can be done after the hangover has happened as the damage has already been done. It's a bit like trying to wear hearing protection the day after you have been to a rock concert. However pure oxygen will help mask the symptoms temporarily, if you know what you're doing making it from hydrogen peroxide with yeast as a catalyst is fairly simple.
You need to take steps to reduce the hangover when you are drinking. Best thing you can do is take a teaspoon of milk thistle seeds before you start drinking another teaspoon before you sleep that night and another when you wake up. This helps immensely, I've done it and everyone I know that has tried the same thing it has helped.
Drinking water before you sleep helps too. I find forcing three big glasses of water down before I sleep has a great effect.
Also making your own alcohol by brewing sugar wine helps a huge amount since the absence of preservatives and negative by products means a much cleaner product. Alcohol from the store both has many preservatives and is contains higher rates of fusel oils and methanol which contribute to hangovers.
Milk thistle seeds? I hadn't heard of taking those, but will definitely give it a try. I've also had luck with chugging Powerade (even though it's loaded with sugar and not good for you) and eating a big meal that makes me sleepy (like turkey or something else containing tryptophan). If I can take a nap at some point in the day, I'm usually fine by late afternoon. I used to pop Advil before passing out (which usually helped ward off a headache), but it's not good to take an NSAID with alcohol in your system. Damned if you do, damned if you don't!
In my 20s I would take NyQuil and sleep it off, but that's also bad for your liver.

Definitely give the milk thistle seeds a shot next time. I find them a godsend for hang overs. Pretty cheap too.
