Would you like the technical answer? 'Cause their is no real cure for hangovers, since the alcohol will stay in your body for X amount of time until the liver cleans it out.
The non-technical answer is mostly sleep, water, and a long, cold shower.
There is no technical answer. It is not well understood what causes a hangover.
Also hangovers tend to appear when the alcohol leaves the body. Hence, even from what little we do know, you are demonstrably wrong. Hangovers happen after the alcohol has passed through.

Oh, whoopsie daisy, I was somehow thinking "drunk" instead of "hung over." Thanks for telling me. Though, I guess half of my answer still applies.
I should rephrase it to say "mask the symptoms". Obviously I know there's no true cure.
