    I believe the disconnect is the fact that our definition of a nerd is different.

    My definition of someone who is a nerd, is someone who's interest fall under the category of "nerdy"

    For example comic books, Anime, video games, sciffi/fantasy, academics, etc

    While your definition of a nerd seems to be more derogatory, like there are hopeless loser

    And using derogatory terms to canvas entire group of people generally makes you look like either an asshole or someone who's narrowminded.

      lmfao but that's the thing, if you love comic books, anime, video games, science fiction and fantasy, YOU ARE A HOPELESS LOSER. I love all those things, so by extension, I'm a hopeless loser.

      You can call me an asshole or narrowminded if you want, but I'm not going to call you names for your ignorant perception of what a nerd actually is.
