Men vs Women Art Talents

  • I think they did a study on this and found that men are generally more talented musically and that women were usually better creative writers. As for the visual arts, I've seen great stuff from both genders. If I were to hazard a guess, I'd say that men, being traditionally spatial, would be able to create exact, precise art, and women would be able to better capture an abstract emotion perhaps.

    Though, even if there ARE general differences between the genders, there will always be both men and women that buck the trend and excel at stuff they're not supposed to, and I think that's pretty awesome. I'm fairly talented musically, but I'm also a good writer, and I'm poor at most sports. In some ways, I'm like my gender, and in others I'm not, and I think that's the case with most people. And I know women, for example, who are not emotionally/socially adept, but rational, logical and exacting perfectionists whose greatest talents are mathematical.

    I don't think it's very wise to be "afraid" of general statistics. Sometimes they're not politically correct, but one's gender does NOT define them as a person anyway. It's just one aspect of a very complex entity.
