Most guys want the pleasure only anal sex can provide. Most people who engage in anal sex regularly will anally douche beforehand, flushing out any small particles in the rectum. Otherwise, as long as one doesn't feel the urgent need to go to the bathroom right then, their rectum is empty and if you have a balanced diet with a good amount of fiber, you'll be naturally pretty clean already.

True, anyone can get any infection from anal sex. In the end, I think it's just better to stay away from it. But if she wanted to try it, I'd be extra careful to not hurt her and use protection.

UTIs and related infections are easily prevented by urinating after having sex. It's a non-issue 99.9% of the time. There are many of us who have frequent anal sex (or exclusively anal sex) and have never had any such infection.
