  • Benadryl is actually not bad for relaxation as far as over the counter medications are concerned. I personally like to take a capsule, or possibly two of Valerian root, and or a 5mg of melatonin. Also, believe it or not, herbal teas can be quite effective. Celestial Seasonings puts out a really good tea for relaxation called Tension Tamer, and Yogi Tea has an excellent one called Bedtime.

Another good idea is also look into using essential oils like: Lavender, Clary Sage, Sweet Marjoram, Roman Chamomile, Bergamot, and Peppermint, for starters. I also like adding Sweet Orange as well as Mandarin to some of the above oils in a diffuser.

Finally, I want you to suggest that you listen to some relaxing music, and maybe find something nice, boring to read. Don't watch television bed.

    • I love patchouli and neroli, too!

      • Oh yeah, those are lovely. I wish Neroli wasn't so expensive, it smells lovely.

        • Yeah, me too. My neroli is only 5% diluted in coconut oil. But it's still as strong as anything.
