Yes and no. It's tragic that they were put in a position where their suffering outweighed their fear of death and caused them to be suicidal in the first place. However, it's not tragic that they were killed, as the shooter merely granted their death wish and released them from whatever troubles they were going through.
It should be every man's freedom to choose whether to live or die. They didn't ask to live in this world, so they have every right to choose to leave if they so wish. Denying them that right would be cruel and unreasonable, like a jail warden holding an innocent person prisoner.

I totally agree with your rational and well written post, but I don't understand your last paragraph...... but then any use of the meaningless and lazy term "politically correct" makes me cringe.
