Why would they 'abuse' this? Most men want to be a part of their kids life when they're happily married or living together with their wives/girlfriends.
Men that don't (abusive relationship, getting tricked in to having a child when they don't want one) deserve a chance out of this, don't they?

I'm talking about the ones that have no concept of maturity and what it means to be a parent. I don't know what utopia you've been living in, but being 'happily married' isn't the norm in my experience. Most people nowadays don't know what it means to be committed. Just look up divorce rates...
