Mad at my friend

Today, In honors english..I needed to do an activity with 5 people that sit around me, all of them are my friends, and the person who sits infront of me was my best friend. So, the activity was to pretend you are in a cave, stuck with a giant inside of it, you needed to formulate a plot to get out of the cave. Well..In the end one of Josh's friends/my friend wrote that Josh didn't make it out of the cave. Apparently Josh got so offended with him not making it out of the cave, that he took my paper from my desk, crubled it up, and refused to give it back to me. He then proceeded to cry..I told him I was truely sorry, (I didn't even do anything, he just is always mad at me)..So then he hit me..He slapped me on the chest and face. Then ran off and ignored me..Is this normal to hate him now? Is he acting normal?
