Lucid dream help

So I have trouble sleeping and I wake up 4-5 times per night and I sometimes have nightmares and when I'm in dream i realize that I'm dreaming and then I wake myself up on purpose but some of the other times I just wake up. Like yesterday I got arrested then crashed in a plans or something then got stuck in the zombie somewhat apocalypse then get chased these zombies are smart and can talk I get held as the last human left then I book it and run and then I get corned and swing across a vine and I realize it's a dream and say fuck this shit I'm out and I wake up. Is it normal to wake up this much in the middle of the night sometimes by my own doing?

There are many things which could cause this: too much coffee late in the day; too much alcohol late in the day; stress or anxiety; some medication or watching a screen until just before you go to sleep are some of them.

If you can work out when this sleep pattern began you might be able to work out the cause.

The dreams are normal but the waking up all through the night is not. It's probably not normal to have nightmares that often either. You could be suffering sleep apnea or some other issue. I'd talk to a dr about possibly doing a sleep study or something like that.

    • I don't think i have sleep apnea but I do have insomnia which sometimes barley affects me and where other times it affects me a lot lately it's been very mild. It could be something else and I'll take a sleep study into consideration.

look , if you are truly a lucid dreamer you control the dream , so why would you want to wake up, you can fly and have unlimited sex with whoever you want . i dont think you are calling the shots yet.

    • I never got that far in the lucid dreaming but I usually in when i was trying to explore change things like I did to someone's face and the time of day once I'm like halfway and for some reason when ever I realize (which is a lot) I just feel like leaving since I've been getting nightmares a lot recently but even in my normal ones after like 5 minutes i just feel like leaving instead of exploring and I'm just fighting my subconscious because "I" keep throwing nightmares at me but since I wake up at night that zombie ish dream i told you I had 4 other dreams and 3/5 those 5 were nightmares if i had a nice environment I would probably stuck around.

I wake myself up from dreams sometimes. 4 to 5 times though seems excessive to me but maybe it's normal for other people.

    • It's definitely not normal once or twice yes but 5 times it's not.

There are these pills to help you realize that you are dreaming during a dream and not wake up. They also help you have good dreams. I know some people who have taken these (they had the same problem as you). And it solved the problem. Look at the website and look at the reviews and stuff.
