I'm kind of like this. I find the flirting and getting to know each other part a lot of fun and it really gets my heart going, but once we settle down and start making it a routine thing with seeing each other and going out, it becomes the norm and it's nothing special.
But you need to understand that it's always going to be exciting when you first meet someone and first learn about who they are. In time that excitement DOES die down.. for everything I think. But if you meet the right person, you'll want to stay with them no matter what.
I figure you are young and don't want to get a bf to tie you down so it's normal. But be sure not to carry this into your adulthood because in that case you won't let yourself be happy. (Not to upset you)
