    Probably because your pet loves you unconditionally and they are always there in hard lonely times. They don't judge you and even better, don't hurt you (emotionally atleast) Plus who doesn't like putting their face in something so soft? I never loved a pet but I enjoy having them around, almost like a true friend.

      Pets don't love unconditionally. They do what what's necessary to be fed and cared for.
