Self respect and making yourself look more presentable can definitely help, but there are more physical aspects to looks in which no way in how you dress and present yourself will make some people rugged, handsome, or beautiful. So unless your clothes or presentation itself is noticeably standing out in a bad way, then getting mistreated in how you look is definitely a prejudice. If someone gets mistreated due to anything they can't help, it's a prejudice. And it's sad, because looks prejudice is definitely still more exceptable and widespread than racial or sexual orientation prejudices today.
