yeah im pretty sure he'd know if the girl he was talking to over the phone was really a man or not. But otherwise, you should force a meeting (her coming to meet you, or at least her coming to meet you halfway) and see if you can take the relationship farther.

If you've taken 6 months out of your short short life on this girl, then she obviously has a great degree of your love. Lots of couples make the long distance relationship work, but meeting in between is essential. You should see if you two can meet and make it work.
btw: you've known her for 6 months and you've never seen a photo or clip of her? that's fucking weird dude. I'd definitely get that sorted out before trying to meet her.
