Trust me it can work. I know someone who made it work, for real. On the other hand it could be the stuff of Napoleon Dynamite (Kip and Lafonda) and then you're definately screwed. Just try not to be fake and be yourself, if it doesn't work then it's obviously because she'd rather have me.
One more thing, if you've not met her yet how certain are you that she is actually a she and not a he ?
