When I moved away from my rural area, it was specifically because it was rural. A lot of people in my current city say they would hate to live anywhere too rural due to needing to travel long distances for anything.
I'm sure the lack of diversity probably influences some people. I just wanted to be able to do shit without traveling 30 minutes to the next town.
As a person who likes driving that doesnt seem to be much of a problem. At least not when the roads are fair. If they get iced up I'm not too pleased to travel to anywhere.
