  • Figs...I've been wondering how they taste for years.

    • I rented a house that had some fig trees. It was fabulous. The ant's and birds loved them too though.

      • Are they any good? My suspicions are that they taste like some sort of mixture of a prune and a nut, which doesn't sound all that appealing to me (I like nuts, but not prunes).

I love when being able to just eat stuff right out of the yard. My grandma grew a few orange, tangerine and grapefruit trees. For a short while I lived in a place that had a little kumquat tree and most places here you can find blackberries. Oh, and my great aunt grew muskadine grapes; I hated them when I was little but I like them now.

        • I liked them fresh off the tree, warm from the sun. I also made fig bars that were tasty. It's been a while, but I guess they are slightly prunish, which I like. I ate them more for the health benefits rather than the taste, but I do like them.

I've been waiting 2 months now and finally have baby peppers. The supermarket has bags of mini sweet peppers, yellow red and orange, so I decided to see if I could grow any. They all sprouted and I had way too many to repot. I still have at least 40 plants though and soon I will pick a pack of peppers and be super excited about it. I love growing things and watching their daily progress.

          • I shall try them someday. I don't think I've ever seen one in the grocery stores.

That's awesome, I'm terrible at growing veggies... I tried to grow tomatoes, green beans, and pumpkins earlier this year. Only two of my pumpkin plants survived, barely. I'm hoping to get at least a little pumpkin by Halloween:) I have had more luck with avocado seeds- I have two trees that are almost 2ft high now and a few more seeds sprouting. I love watching things grow too :)
