I'm pretty much my own salon. I do my nails, toes, wax, and exfoliation myself. I have a jacuzzi foot tub, a foot scrub, foot rock ( can't remember the correct name for it), nail filer, loofah, exfoliating soaps, and my At-Home Wax-Kit with Wax Warmer.
Over the years, I've become very skilled with doing my own nails. Sometimes people ask me, "When did you get your nails done?" It always puts a smile onto my face. In my mind I'm saying, "haha I'm that good?"
Not only do I save money by doing this, but it's very therapeutic. You really learn about your body and what's going on with your body.
I try to wax certain areas every 2 weeks- 1 month
I exfoliate everyday
I do my nails at least one a month
Exfoliation can damage skin and cause little milia or milk spots. They have to either be jabbed with a heated lance by a dermatologist or you can poke it with a hot sewing needle and squeeze it like a very hard, grainy pimple with a tiny bead way down in your flesh that has to be removed with tweezers. My point is, it's not fun. So you may want to cut back exfoliation to every three days or even a week. Especially on your face. It is a good thing to get rid of dead skin but you need to let your skin heal a bit.
Ladies: How often do you go to the salon/spa?
