Ladies, does your man get mad about

I wondered how many guys get upset that their women take so long getting ready to go out ? I realize many women like to be all nice and squeaky pretty and clean etc. We can agree so far ? I remember women take a bit of time and care in making sure they get their legs nice and smooth and doing it well and not having any stragglers growing up in out of the way places. If your man birches that you take to long getting ready, tell them or challenge them to go thru the routine and they can try shaving their legs to your satisfaction, say for a week or two. Would you or have you considered maybe getting your man to do it and to see how long it actually takes to do it ? I decided to see for myself. Yes I am a guy. I think more guys should do it, then they might have more understanding of what women go thru.

I have not asked him to. I don't care if he does or not. 7
I asked-he did it gladly 2
I have asked him-he refused 1
I haven't but I would 2

So we are leaving for a party at 8:00. I am ready on time; she is ready on time. What's the issue?

    • Many people are habitually late. It would seem you and yours are not like that.

Right, but the point is that it is more expeditious to tell your wife to start getting ready earlier rather than question her time efficiency with make-up, pantyhose, tampons, and other feminine what not. Wouldn't you agree?

        • Gee, I posted this as a kind of light hearted way for guys to instead of bitching about the wife/gf running late more than not to kind of step into her position to see what she has to do and go thru to get dolled up so that she is the eye candy with you when you go out. Instead you are hinting at make her start earlier, or what sounds like these responding are never late, their S.O. has never, ever caused you to be late to the point that the guys are in the front door yelling at her "What the hell is taking you so long" kinda stuff. Again I'm not saying smack her around so she's on time. We are human, so many families have more to do than just jump in shower get dressed and go. Many have kids to feed, pets to deal with or other ungodly amounts of distractions that keep us from meeting the time which we set for our target "Go" time. If you feel you have your wife on a short enough leash and you are the final word in your house and you can make her get going sooner, then don't respond here. If your household is one of the chaotic, so much going on but nothing getting done, neighbor kids are staying the night and your DOG got loose so you have to catch them kind of hectic household that seems to be the curse and you or s.o. is never able to make it on time kind of stuff is what I was aiming towards.

So I see. I no longer have a wife. She passed away a few years ago. But because of her superior leadership skills, nobody was ever late, nor was there ever chaos, nor disorganization. She ran the team like a high spirited offensive football squad.

            Guess I can't relate.

Pet peeve of mine. Show up 5 minutes early or don't show up at all.

If I was a teacher I would be one that locks the door when class starts.

If it's a routine and said person is always late, then there is a problem. A person performing a routine should be aware of how long it takes them. What I dislike is the blatant wasting of time.

The conversation goes like this. "We need to leave in half and hour. Will you be ready by then?" Woman replies "Yup, I just want to have a cup of coffee" Man says "OK." Half an hour later " Time to go are you ready?" Woman replies "Yup, I just need to grab my purse." Man goes out to the car and putters in the garage for ten minutes. Goes back in the house to find the woman has not moved and is now writing something. "I thought you said you were ready?" Woman says " I am. I just need to grab my purse." Man says "We're ten minutes late what are you doing now?" Woman says "Writing a grocery list." Man thinks 'but we aren't going to the grocery store' "Well we're late let's go." Five minutes later women has her purse but still doesn't have he shoes on and is playing with the cat. Man throws up hands and calls ahead and moves appointment, turns off the car he woke up early to make sure would start, and started early to make sure she would be nice and toasty, walks inside and starts taking off coat. Woman, still no shoes on, says "What are you you doing." Man says "I had to move the appointment. We wouldn't make it." Women starts yelling because of the Man had the nerve to change her appointment without her permission.

Man learns he needs to lie about the time of all appointments so that procrastinating Woman will be ready on time.

Yep it's his fault. He should have started nagging her two hours earlier. It's always the man's fault. Just ask her. Just gave you an up-thumb

I'm not saying men don't do this stuff either. I had a friend that ran on his own time. John time. Minimum of half an hour late.

Once he put his alarm clock across the room to "make sure" he would be on time. Two hours late I went to his house. Alarm still going off, he fell asleep on the floor half way to the clock.

I go out with a female friend (even though we're more than that) fairly often, and have gotten used to watching and waiting for her to get ready. Everything has to match, the outfit, nails, shoes or boots..And her long, gorgeous mane of dirty blonde hair has to be perfect. She's beautiful and sexy, and when I jokingly say something about how long she's taking to get ready, says "I have to look good on your arm". And she always does.

I don't get mad or upset, but also..Wouldn't mind her being a little faster as long as we get the same results. I've even touched up her nails on one hand while she does her makeup with the other.

As babbling brooks babble to no one, verdant splendor shines from ecosystems unknown. A phenomenon as mysterious as cyber spooks in boxes of preoccupation. Ye Yeats and Thomas mutter in confused unison.

I don't think any guy would care about how long it takes a woman to get ready, she could take all day if she wanted to. What they care about is if she's on time. Being ready on time is just common courtesy, it doesn't matter whether you're a man or a woman or whether you have a lot to do beforehand or not. I totally agree though that women have a lot more to do than men and they definitely have the right to complain about that, but it's still not an excuse to be late (except maybe the odd time).

Didn't Mel Gibson do this? Did you discover "What woman want" (the movie) in your attempts?

  • Bra - ✔ pantyhose - ✔, tampon- uncheck. Makeup-uncheck. Have non and I'm wasn't sure about tampons. Lol. But seriously, I was on your side to the extent that I actually could. Besides if I wanted to do or try doing the makeup part, I'm sure I would suck at it. Never done it before. Lol. If ever a woman wants to try doing that on me, good luck. It would not be a pretty site, I'm sure. Nikki, I'm working on better than "kinda".
