The reason I ask, is most people don't worry about getting respect from others. It's usually a non-issue because if we do happen to come across someone who's disrespectful of us, we ditch them and move on.
Just a note: People like tend to gravitate to other people who come across as calm and positive. They don't like people who complain a lot or people who focus on negativity.
