Kroger lemon lime soda always explodes?

Every time I open a new 2 liter Kroger brand lemon lime soda pop, it bubbles up and explodes. At first I thought it was because it might have just gotten shook up a bit so I tried an experiment and only opened the bottles after they had been perfectly still for 24 hours. They still explode! Wtf?

Is It Normal?
