I went through an almost identical situation with a colleague who's 12 yrs older. BTW he's a guy and I am too. The difference is that HE is into me, but I'm in no way reciprocating his feelings. I thought things would become awkward at work, but they weren't, he feigned nothing had happened and so did I.
