I don't know why, but when people say:

"keep your eyes peeled"

I think of eye balls being grated by a cheese grater. It seriously creeps me out and whenever someone says it I cringe. JUST THINK ABOUT IT!!! ahh! I'm freaking out just typing about it.

Next time someone says this you will get creeped out too, this has been affecting me ever since I was young, and no matter what people say I always relate that saying to grated eyeballs, its GROSSS!

      yhe expression is meant to imply that you should open your eye lids to see all you can see, it does no pertain to the eyeballs
