I had sleep paralysis and told my friend about it who is an Irish Traveller and he put a picture of Michael the Archangel with the prayer on it on the mirror in my room and put salt across the doorway and on the windowsill. I never had sleep paralysis in that room again.
Maybe it was just like a placebo effect, I don't know.
Irish Travellers have alot of unique traditions like that, it seems to be a combination of Christianity with the old druid traditions of Ireland. I would imagine a lot of catholic folklore evolved from those traditions too.
