Just got an email dated 1968

Technically it did. But not as we know it now, since what would become the internet wasn't created until the following year. But some universities and such had local electronic mail at least.

I changed the time in my PC settings to 7 hours in the future and sent an email to an acquaintance who I knew was heavily into internet porn. I pretended to be Inspecter XYZ from France. I told him his computer had been detected to cross international borders to obtain illegal images of children and that he was hereby ordered to take his computer and all his illegal images and report himself to the nearest office of INTERPOL or the FBI. The time change made it look like the email came from Western Europe.
Scared the shit out of him. I thought it was pretty funny when I did it, but after a couple hours I felt bad for the guy so I called him up and told him what I had done. He didn't think it was funny. He had already wiped his computer clean.
