Jelous boyfreind?

My girlfriend and I have been going steady now for two months. Although we're still new, i have noticed her guy freinds call her to hang out and stuff. Most of them are guys she used to date but now they are just freinds. I don't know about you, but Most of the girls I used to date but still "talk" to are kinda fuck buddies when I'm single. When a dude called her the other day I finally voiced my concern. I pretty much told her that I got rid of all my girlie friends and I expect her to do the same with the fellas or I'm out. I don't know if i'm being insecure or if I'm in the right. Any true advice would be much appreciated. Thanks

  • Dear lord... Can't have a plotonic relationship with the oposite sex?!?! WTF! Please don't listen to such silly BS. Grown Ups can and DO have platonic friendships.
If you Trust her then stay together. If you don't/can't then leave now.

  • theres nothing wrong with guys having girl friends and guys having guy friends as long as there's nothing going on

  • It's normal to be jealous, but every girl (well perhaps a handful) have a guy friend who they go to for advice, so that may not mean there is anything going on with any of her guy friends. Also, if you start controlling her she will probably be more distant from you, you would be like a parent telling her who she can and can't see, which I would say is a turn off. Just because you got rid of your friends it doesnt mean she should to.

  • I think your half right, especially since the relationship is so new. Although you probably have no grounds for suspicion, trust is still underway, and for now (perhaps not always), her opposite sex friends put too much strain on the new relationship. Be careful how you word this to her.

  • Guys she recently dated should be out of the pic. But not her guy freinds that are strictly platonic.

  • God I wish all men were like you. I'm the same way, if I'm in a relationship I don't think it's right for the man I'm with to have female friends he talks to. I have enough respect to stop all contact with any men I talked to then the man I'm with should have enough respect to do the same.

  • You can't have a platonic relationship with the opposite sex just doesn't work. My suggestion is let her go before you get to attached. If she wants to be with you, she will get the hint and come back. I hope this helps.

    • You mean YOU can't - assume everyone is the same as you, that particular disease seems to be rife on IIN!

I have quite a few platonic friends of the opposite sex - they're just humans who happen to have different genitalia to mine

  • I think if she has dated or fucked them before you-- they should be gone.

If they are legit friends they are ok.

  • Asking her to ditch her guy friends cause you're insecure is wrong. I have many very close guy friends (some were f-buddies). My husband had a lot of female friends. And neither of us give a shit about the other still being close with those of the oposite sex.
In all honesty what I'm seeing in your post is a guy who is perhaps worried he may cheat on the current gf with one of his female friends/f-buddies. Cause unless your gf has given you a reason to think SHE'LL cheat with one of her friends, you'r probably projecting YOUR feelings/desires onto her.
Bottom line if you won't let your girl friend have friends of the opisite you'll start to look like a controling a-hole. And she may smarten up and leave your insecure ass behind.

  • It's normal to be jealous but you might be taking it to the extreme and jumping to conclusions. Give it time. Relax. But you are fine with telling her how you feel.

  • It's normal to feel jealous and have concern over the situation...what's not normal or healthy is to get rid of all your friends that are girls and ask her to get rid of her guy friends.

Your allowed to have concerns and voice them with her. Seems unfair to ask her to get rid of her friends...especially since you don't have any proof that there is more going on there.
