  • I do enjoy tofu but you’re right. I’m not vegetarian, and labeling myself as one to suffice the ignorant isn't helping anyone.

    • Tofu's ok. Lentils and beans are better. More taste.

I really like lentils. Great beef mince replacement.

        • I've yet to make an exclusively bean chili. I'm the only one who likes beans and lentils...but I've done half and half and it was some good shit.

I enforce one fish, one vegetarian dinner a week. I hate fish, but I'm forcing myself. Only vege meal we'll all eat is falafel pitas. They like quiche and frittata stuff. I can't handle the texture, or the dairy, so I get my lentils in there with lentil Bolognese or soup, but it does mean cooking two meals :/

Really want a lentil or chickpea burger now. Or some vege sausages. But no one else will eat those or tofu.

Been meaning to make some egg rice paper rolls...but I'm out of Moroccan seasoning. Maybe some dukkah would do?

          • Falafel (and hummus) is probably the only time I have eaten chickpeas exclusively. But damn that fried bean ball with some hummus and pita really hits the spot.

My mother makes a mean kidney bean chilli and stuffed green pepper dishes for the colder months.

            • Chickpea burgers are good shit. I make falafels from a packet mix, but I don't deep fry like real ones. Still good. I need to try baking them sometime.

That sounds good. My grandmother loves stuffed peppers, but I use lamb mince for hers, and red ones. I can't enjoy the texture of cooked pepper. Too slimy. And I prefer to cut the mince with rice but she hates rice, noodles and pasta. Makes cooking a fucking minefield between the two of us haha.
