It's like i'm being stabbed

I keep getting these stabbing pains, deep ionside my abdomen, and they won't go away. They're either off to the side, or right in the middle. The litterally feel like someone has stabbed me with something and it's now twisting around inside me. I've asked my parents, but they just shake their heads and call them growing pains. But I've felt growing pains before, and these are NOT growing pains.
And now it's happening at school, so in the middle of class I'm left breathless, clutching my sides, and biting my own tongue. My best friend has noticed, and she's worried, too. But I want to know if I should try harder to have my parents schedual a doctors appointment, or if I'm just a sissy and it happens all the time.

Well, to the best of my knowledge this isn't normal, I have experienced something kinda like this, but it was kind of more of just a sharp little pain that would last a few seconds, then just gone. Nothing serious for me.

But your situation sounds different, and I think it may be something serious. You should do as the others have mentioned, nurse, onto official doctor. Then again, school nurses sometimes really don't help or do much at all... It might get you nowhere. Still, its worth a try.
    Best of luck,

i'm type 1 diabetic, and at the age of 17 i experienced those pains for a few days, then they progressivly got worse after the second week. turns out i had a kidney infection so maybe it's that.

could be your appendix. Get it looked at.

I get like that too, and I'm 27. I can assure you mine are not growing pains! Could be something more serious. Are you really stressed? I have ulcers, so that's part of my problem. You might want to see a doctor. Good luck! :)

good idea, see the school nurse.

do you get any other symptoms besides the pain? also, take note of when the pain comes, is it after eating, or hours later. keep a food diary for awhile, (a doctor will probably ask you to do that anyway), and see if the pain comes when certain foods have been consumed, such as dairy, etc.

Since it happens at school, go to the school nurse, or tell your teacher. That way, the school will likely call your parents and recommend you be taken to a doctor.

BTW, you're right, what you are describing aren't growing pains and your parents should realize that.
