It's funny that there are political parties for environment

It looks funny to have parties in different countries for environment and climate, especially in Europe. That's the dumbest thing I have heard. Those parties would be the last ones for whom I would vote.

Help us keep this site organized and clean. Thanks!

  • It's funny because this shouldn't be a political issue. And yet it is. People like you are why the world is in the state it's in.

  • Why?

  • The funny thing is that in Europe, the green parties are hell bent on banning internal combustion engined cars. Nothing about the coal power plants, nothing about dirty factories in Eastern Europe, nothing about illegal waste dumping, smarter city planning and smarter traffic control systems. How about implementing hybrid buses for public transport, smart traffic lights that sense cars and flow and can adapt. How about more R&D into hydrogen powered vehicles. How about more money into nuclear fusion, how about more solar panels and flying gardens on buildings? How about covering up massive parking lots with solar panels (free shade and free power). A complete ban on coal power stations, smart street lighting, that turns off when there are no people nearby. This is just stuff I can come up with in a few minutes. And I'm just some random guy, not an "expert".

It's just cars for those idiots! Ban cars and polar bear numbers will soar, all of the plastic from the oceans will disappear, polluting countries will magically stop polluting and happy squirrels and bunnies will dance on top of the EU parliament building in Brussels... Absolute bullshit!

Don't get me wrong, I'm not an idiot that doesn't believe in climate change and our impact on our planet. I'm not a fan of the garbage dystopia idea...

But this idiocy on banning cars is just absurd. All of the stuff I mentioned can be implemented and will benefit everyone.
But politicians won't do that, because they are too stupid and too greedy, cause implementing all of that tech into cities will cost a lot of money. So much, that the luxury politician lifestyle will come to an end. That 20 grand a month paycheck is gonna shrink. So they won't do it and try to pull the wool over our eyes with bogus laws like reducing vacuum cleaner wattage and trying to reduce air conditioner power to somehow help the environment... somehow...

Hey, how about a new law that governs the shape of carrots? Yeah, that's the way to do it... (typical brainstorming in the EU parliament) Gotta justify those 2 Billion Euros a year for paychecks somehow...

  • People say they hate the two party system in the USA because it's too narrow of a choice. Better than the EU and britan with a half dozen parties hoping just to get 33%. At least in a two party system they strive to get moderates to get the majority (48-50%) with the minor parties in the mix.

    • The two party system is designed to make sure nobody outside of the established system can hold office. It's all fake.

  • If your post is genuine and you're not trolling, you are the dumb one if you don't care about the environment. If you live in a country which doesn't have a political party committed to the environment, I feel sorry for you and your country and the environment.

    • I do care about the environment but not up to a level of supporting a whole political party which runs its business by using climate and environment. There are tons of other serious stuff to be taken care of.

  • Politicians have to get involved or we would be living in a huge smog cloud like China. You cant dirty up your nest too much.
