  • The thing I worry about is the fact that once something becomes habitual it spills over into everyday speech and diction...I've heard people verbally say "lol," which is a misnomer since they are saying lol and not actually laughing...I don't envy the job of high school English teachers!

    • You don't know the half of it.

      In high school, we had to write papers in my JRotc course and I saw many chatspeak written papers in the stack. Dead serious. I have seen this in school too many times.
