It is normal to have impulsive, uncontrollable daydreaming?

It just happens randomly and can last hours; whenever I recognise it the thoughts just drag me back in.

Yeah, that happens to me a lot, but I don't know if it's normal. When I'm in a class, or someone's talking to me, I can space out like 45 times in an hour period. I don't know if other people do it, but I always have.

It's called epilepsy. Go to the doctor before you kill someone whilst driving or drown in the bath.

Before I fall asleep and when I wake up, I sometimes daydream for an hour or more. For it to happen randomly and last hours? Not normal, I would seek professional help.

Maybe what you have is ADD, and OCD?

ADHD is possible. But why would you say OCD?

I was thinking of the compulsive nature of it.

Compulsive in OCD is more like, "If I don't do this, bad things will happen".

Maybe there's an obsessive thing about the daydreaming? It's just a hunch, I could be wrong, I could be right.

I remember when I was a kid the teachers, and school counselor asked me if I daydreamed, but I lied, and said I didn't, because I could just tell that they thought it was a bad thing by the tone of their voices. I have a hard time paying attention to things that bore me like math classes, or business meetings at work.

I've heard it's a commonly overlooked sign of ADHD in girls, rather than the hyperactive movement. Idk if that's true or not, but it makes sense to me.
